On this Day

On this day, 2 years ago I experienced a shift of mindset, I received a shift of direction, I received Jesus.

I always thought I was doing good by just attending church on most Sundays and trying my best not to anger anyone, Haha, I laugh now because I couldn’t have been more wrong about something. I had this notion in life that I was on the right track but of course that was the enemy’s way of ensuring that I didn’t see the need to have Jesus in my life. Being brought up by Christian parents, I convinced myself that automatically gave me a ‘gateway’ to the Kingdom of God.

More often times than not, during every altar call in church, I felt a conviction to raise my hand or recite the prayer BUT no, I told myself that I wasn’t ready (we never are). I would convince myself that I first had to follow all of God’s commands then consider getting into His Kingdom. I could say that I misled myself.

On a Sunday morning. 7th June 2015, my heart was heavy and desired peace, desired comfort and so much around me did not make me happy. I felt lost, then the praise and worship team at Grace Chapel, Moi University, led a very beautiful song that said, ‘Come as you are.’ I broke down immediately as I worshiped since this was God telling me that He just wanted me to be His, He didn’t look at my sin, He wanted me.

Towards the end of the service my Rev. Ekitala, an altar call was raised, and there the voice of “don’t go, what will people think’ lingered in my mind, BUT Jesus was determined to have me on that day, I just raised my hand and confessed with my tongue that I had accepted Christ, that I believed in my heart that He died for me.

After the service, we were summoned to begin the foundation classes or discipleship classes. That was the beginning of the miraculous journey that I will talk about in another blog post.

Special thanks to my friends the wonderful fellowship sessions at school. I thank God for using them. A special thanks to Grace Chapel fraternity and members for supporting young believers in Faith. I thank the Foundation Team 2015 for being the best Bible Study group as well . I also say Thank you to my family for the strong Christian values instilled and support! Most importantly, thanks be to God for using all these people.

GOD BLESS YOU | KEEP THE FAITH
