It is darkest before dawn

As I had mentioned in the earlier post, God provided in miraculous ways. As soon as I got the Paybill number, we created a Poster to help raise the hospital bill. I believe God's angels were very busy during this time since different people gave, even people who are not familiar with our family.
My sister and I constantly shared the poster on our WhatsApp status and friends would send any amount which we highly appreciated. Our extended family also helped fundraise and by God's Grace, we were about to realize the amount. The hospital needed us to raise 263,000 in a week, to offset the bill.
God's favour was upon us because during this week, the hospital said they would freeze dad's account and only charge him for meds (God had done a great thing)
Back at home people continued to give and by the following week, on Wednesday 1st April, we had raised around 127,000. This was far from what the hospital needed. My dad's siblings called for an emergency meeting to try and discuss how we would raise the pending amount. As we were seated there, someone called my sister and told her that a community group had raised around 100,000😭 ...some of these people didn't know dad but they still contributed. Not shortly after, a family friend sent 50,000 and just before we could absorb the news, another person gave 10,000. At this point we had surpassed the target. Mind you, all this happened during a meeting which we were supposed to discuss the way forward. What we didn't know is that God was already working 😭😭
During the same meeting, we agreed that we needed a lawyer to help with collateral agreements with the hospital. Our cousin called a friend who recommended a lawyer and guess what the lawyer was available the next day. Ps: We didn't have the cash to pay the lawyer but by Faith we agreed that he could come(another story). You see, after we received the different amounts we said that we would go to hospital the next day (April 2) and make the payments while agreeing on collateral. After this we would then go pick up dad the following day (April 3) when everything was settled.
On this night, God surpassed our expectations and what we thought was an "emergency meeting" turned out to be a "breakthrough meeting"
In part 3 I will share more on dad's discharge, getting a care-giver and about the pending bills 😊
…..To be continued

ReplyDeleteHave you ever been humbled by God's doing to a point you are just speechless? This was the feeling on that night, the entire week and still a testimony to date... For sure this is a journey of our faith being tested but God's grace has been upon us.
