Downcast but not destroyed: Part 1

On this day, I had just left the hospital where my dad was recovering and ready for discharge. We thought he would be discharged that week but a few misaligned conversations on hospital bill payment ensued. I had gone to a Safaricom Customer Care shop at the Hub in Karen where my auntie had just dropped me on our way from hospital which was located in South C.

I collected the application forms and on my way out, I met two women who I believe God had sent to encourage me. They knew the situation with our dad and I told them I was just from collecting paybill application forms. The two women are sisters and one of them sings at their Church choir where my dad is a member too. They had just lost their dad the previous week but these two women spoke life to me and said, "don't worry, God will provide." We talked for sometime and I was somewhat filled with hope. I still did not know how we could raise the amount the hospital needed but having spoken to these two God-sent sisters, I knew somehow that God would come through for us🙏

I proceeded on to buy a snack at the supermarket which served as my lunch for the day. Taking advantage of the empty field at the mall, I went and sat under a tree facing a small pond on the grounds.

I called out to God and asked Him to deliver us. I even sang some self composed songs to encourage my soul. Even after speaking to the women, somehow my soul was still downcast.I made several declarations and at the end I was strengthened. God spoke to me these words, "I will lead you beside still waters". This is a verse on Psalm 23.

Even though nothing had changed physically, in my Spirit, I knew God had already dispatched Angels to Work.

True to God's Word, He began providing in miraculous ways and guess what, through people's giving and in less than a week, we hit the target and surpassed (This is another testimony that needs a separate post).

….To be continued

  1. Amen! Glory be to God. He is God even in the valley and His character is everlasting, He is Love. I thank God for this testimony Njeri, it has encouraged me a lot, and I know that God's purpose for the journey He took your family through was accomplished.

  2. This is so inspiring sister njeri. We serve a Living God. We might be thinking that all hope is gone but it is at that time that He shows his power.
