I will call you, mine

Will you let me in?

I have been standing here for a while now;

I know everything is not okay in there;

Still, I will not force my way in;

When you are ready, let me in.

It's me again, still here knocking;

I can tell you are sad by your soft cries;

I won't get tired of knocking;

You know I have a really comfortable shoulder you can cry on;

I'm right outside your door, I won't move an inch.

Today, you are having a rough day;

I can tell because, just like yesterday, you are sobbing;

It breaks my heart that you are in there alone;

Knock Knock!

I can come in and you can tell me all about your day

I hear footsteps coming towards the door;

I am excited that you finally want to let me in;

Oh wait, the footsteps are silent now;

Where did you go?

Are you afraid?

Are you still there?

You make a sound as though trying to get up;

I hear the footsteps once again;

The door knob is turning;

You are crying - now loudly.

The door flies wide open;

I take you in my arms;

There now, there now, you don't have to be afraid;

You know what I will call you?

I will call you, Mine.
