Consume me from the inside out

In the last couple of months, I haven't managed to share a personalized blog. I was in what you could call a dump of sort. However, I woke up today feeling the nudge to write and share a blog piece with you. Recently, I have been reflecting on the Love of God for me. 

A few weeks ago, I was feeling very anxious over my next steps in life especially where my career is concerned. I began applying for jobs, not because I knew God is able to give me one, but because I was afraid of being out of one. All this while, God was watching and telling me through the Holy Spirit, "Hey, how about you believe what my Word says?" After a week or so of doing it on my own, I surrendered and told God to have His way. He lovingly reminded me that I do not control anything in my life including my respiratory or digestive system. He reminded me that He knows what is happening and that His plans for me are to prosper me and not to harm me - Jeremiah 29:11 (For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future). Further to this, He reminded me that I should not be anxious about what lay ahead, rather, I should cast every care to Him -  Psalm 55: 22 (Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken)Philippians 4: 6-7 ( Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus) and 1st Peter 5:7 (Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you). 

The gentle instruction of my Father, restored peace in my heart and I rested in His Word. I chose to believe Him and I have a testimony people. My contract at work was to end this October but God...I got an extension for some time with extra tasks. I can honestly say that I didn't see this coming. I had been unsuccessful in my job applications and frustrated thinking that God would use a new job to determine my next steps. But as the Word says, God is not a man - Numbers 23:19 (God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?) and His thoughts are above ours - Isaiah 55:8-9 (For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts)

I am honesty grateful to God because He saw me in my doubting phase and didn't push me away. Rather, He lovingly drew me in and showed me the way - His way. He encouraged me through His Word according to Proverbs 4:11-12 - I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered, when you run, you will not stumble. And that is who God is, a loving Father. When you have strayed away, just like the prodigal son in Luke 15: 11-32, as a child of God, never feel ashamed to go back to your Father. He loves you regardless. His love for you is not dependent on whether you "perform" or not. Romans 8: 38 - 39 (For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.)

From what we read in Romans, the love of God is found in Jesus Christ. When you believe in Jesus Christ, you become a child of God according to John 1:12-13 (Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God) and so, nobody can separate you from the Love of God which is in Christ. The Love of God is available for us but are you willing to surrender and let Him consume you with His Love? Surrendering is all it takes.

I will end this blog piece by praying for you all according to Ephesians 3:16-19 which says, "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
