Happy Father's Day: The role of a father



Tomorrow is Father's Day and the Lord placed in my heart a special message that focuses on the Role of a father in his children's life
Scripture reference: 1st Chronicles 28 and 29
 
1. A father hears from God and obeys Him - The result of hearing from God is that he will know how to direct his children and family in general.  In 1st Chronicles 28: 3-7 , King David tells the people that the Lord had spoken to him concerning His choice of Solomon being the King who took over of him. We see that David obeyed God and did as instructed.
 
2. A father directs his children in the ways of the Lord - In 1st Chronicles 28:9,  King David instructs his son to acknowledge God and serve Him wholeheartedly.
 
3. A father transfers all knowledge given to Him by God to his children - In Ist Chronicles 28: 11- 19, King David explains to his son step by step the temple plans he needed to implement. David never left out any detail so as to ensure that his son was sufficiently equipped with all the information he needed to accomplish the task.
 
4. A father imparts courage in his and blesses them- In 1st Chronicles 28:20, King David, tells his son not to be afraid because the Lord was with him. He tells him to be strong and courageous.
 
5. A father sets a good example for his children to follow - In 1st Chronicles 29: 3, King David said that he had given his personal possessions to the building of the temple and as a result of this, we also see families officers and all the tribes of Israel giving as well. 
 
6. A father prays for his children - In 1st Chronicles 29: 19,while King David was praying, he said, "and give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, requirements and decrees and to do everything to build the palatial structure for which I have provided
