Who am I? (Part 1)

Image
Praise God! Theme verse: Genesis 1: 26-27 , " Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."  Who am I, really? This is by far the one question most people fear asking themselves because it actually bring us to the realisation that we don't really know who we are. Who are you minus your job, minus your family, minus your passion? If everything you hold dear was to be stripped from you, who would you say you are? Today we shall focus on the things that cause us not to adopt our true God-given identity. I will list a few examples here Trying to please other people Fear of people knowing who we really are Fear of revealing your weaknesses The above are jus...

Why do I feel like this?

Image
Praise God! Have you ever been in a season where you feel confused and most things seem quite unclear. If you are a believer, or non-believer alike, this could easily cause anxiety and a form of worry. Well I have been in such a place where things seem to be quite unclear and what is sad about this is that instead of talking to God about it, I was seeking answers from within myself. I will tell you this for free, don't make the mistake of trying to find the answers within because you are only opening another array of problems. Why do I say this? You see when you begin seeking answers from within you, you who by yourself have no power to change anything, you begin looking at everything within you that is a problem and end up even more discouraged than you were before. What am I saying? Good question. For example if you give your best to perform a certain task but still get an answer of not good enough, you have two options, to "look within yourself" and start saying per...

Can anything good come from there?

Image
Praise God! More times than not we have heard people ask, can anything good come from that home, or that place or that person? This question is constantly used to highlight the inability of something or someone to improve, hold a position of honour or progress. I don’t know about you but if I heard someone say these words against me, my heart would sink especially if it came from someone I look up to. But for God, it didn’t come as a surprise that His son’s place of origin was not viewed as capable of producing anything great, let alone the Messiah. This is where we meet Nathanael in John 1: 43 – 51 when Philip informed him that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah that Moses and the prophets wrote about. He asked Philip, “Nazareth, can something good come from there?” Different accounts in the Bible are generous in displaying men and women who society deemed as incapable or what we like to say today, UNQUALIFIED. A common example is King David – he was a shepherd, the last...

My mountain experience

Image
When I think about my experience on the mountains, this is where I fully understand the significance of Jesus Christ praying at the mountains and Moses receiving the commandments on the mountains. So many examples can be drawn from the Bible but this is what I have learnt, there is a divine transfiguration that takes place on the mountains. Snowy peaks of Mount Kenya Friday morning. Yes it was finally here. The long awaited trip to the highest point in Kenya. I remember when I first signed up for this trip I was anxious and excited at the same time, not knowing what lay ahead of me. Running for the 5th time, the hike to Mount Kenya was organised by Pastor Flavia of Parklands Baptist Church as part of the Trooper Challenge. I first learnt about this challenge when I saw photos of Pastor Flavia at Mt Kilimanjaro and when I asked her how I could be come part of her hiking group she explained to me the process. A few weeks later, I was added to a WhatsApp group "Mt Ke...

God of one

Image
Praise God! I don't know about you but I have realised that God just needs one person to accomplish His promise. Today at church, the pastor read to us from Genesis, the story about Abraham. It dawned on me then that God told Abraham that he would be a father of nations but He gave him just one son.ONE. Through this one,  God was planning to fulfill His promise. So here is Abraham,  excited about God's promise of being a father of nations and God gives him one. Abraham had every reason to doubt but unlike most of us,  He believed that God had a great plan which  He would accomplish. Abraham was excited and thankful that God had fulfilled the promise of a son that he had no time to start wondering how one son could become nations.  What is the one that God has given you?  Has God placed a ministry in you and you are wondering how it is going to grow into what God has shown you? Did you want to speak before nations but at the moment you are leadi...

It's a new dawn

Image
Praise God! I bless the Lord God Almighty for through Him and by Him I have life, divine joy, divine peace, divine love, divine wisdom and divine favour. When I started out this year I knew and I still know that God was about to roll out a great manifestation of His plan over my life. A great manifestation that no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived, yes, it is that amazing! Now someone might be reading this and wondering, mmmh what makes her so sure about this? It is simple brethren, I know this through Faith (Hebrews11). Yes without Faith, it is impossible to please God! You see when God releases His Divine plans over your life, it is important for you to claim them, believe and declare they are yours because there is an enemy scheming evil plans to make sure that you don't tap into these great promises. We know that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy and for this people you need to be alert! How do I remain alert, you ask? Good question.  It...
